There is no control on that port. The engine will suck in from that line and since it's downstream of the throttle and idle valve it cannot control the flow and thefore it will idle high like you experienced originally. Theoritcally if the entire system was sealed - ie VC and PCV tube both going to catch can and the can sourcing vac from the intake maniold then it would not be able to suck in any outside air, that could work.
The IM would be a stronger vac source at idle but thats when you need a weaker vac source. Too much vac can actually be bad. Last edited: Nov 26, Just lots of reading and experience. Ok so here is what I found out from King Motorsports
